Lalitpur, Nepal – Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) successfully conducted the TECH Workshop, a dynamic professional development event hosted by its Continuing and Professional Education Center (CPEC) in collaboration with the Digital Learning Research Lab (DLR Lab) from the School of Engineering. The workshop aimed to strengthen the integration of digital technology in educational practices and enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Held at the Hattiban campus, the event brought together approximately 30 educators, alumni, and scholar students from various disciplines, fostering a vibrant community of learning and professional exchange. The workshop held in the date of 22 March 2025 in Siddartha Cottage Tinkune Kathmandu.
The program opened with a warm welcome from Sarita Khadka, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day. The highlight of the workshop was a hands-on session led by Associate Professor Dr. Sushil Shrestha, who demonstrated innovative strategies for incorporating digital tools in classrooms. His interactive approach encouraged participants to rethink and enhance their instructional practices using technology.
This was followed by an engaging session on exploring ICT and AI tools, facilitated by Research Assistant Aashis Dhakal, who introduced participants to new platforms and applications relevant to modern educational settings. Manish Joshi expanded on this by addressing the intersections of climate, AI, and professional engagement tools.
A reflective segment allowed participants to share their insights, challenges, and ideas for implementation, creating a rich dialogue on digital integration in diverse learning environments.
An interactive Q&A session further deepened understanding, where attendees posed practical questions related to the application of tech tools for professional and academic development.
Kebal Khatri, a teacher educator and research assistant, provided participants with an overview of CPEC’s mission, ongoing community engagement activities, and educational programs. The event concluded with closing remarks from Lokendra Karki, summarizing the day’s achievements and encouraging participants to continue exploring innovative approaches in education.
The DLR Lab, a co-host of the event, plays a pivotal role in national and international research initiatives. Located at Kathmandu University’s Dhulikhel campus, the lab specializes in user interface design, AI in education, cognitive research, and learning analytics, making it a valuable partner in this initiative.
The TECH Workshop successfully created a collaborative environment for professional growth, underlining Kathmandu University’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education through digital innovation.
